According to CTV News, Ralph Goodale has said that the upcoming caucus retreat and cabinet meetings in Regina and Winnipeg (respectively) is hoped to be a "helpful step" in quelling Western alienation and thoughts of separation. WWWHHHATT? Are these people so naive as to think that spending a couple days in a 5-Star hotel or resort in some Western city discussing how they are going to win Quebec support in the next election is supposed to help quell western alienation?! I find such a thought more of a cold hard slap in the face!

Here we have the Liberal government who made a deal with the cities of Ontario, another with Quebec, and yet none with the Western provinces; who appoints a seperatist Quebecor as Governor General; who will probably be taking the unconventional step to appoint a Quebec judge (which a required 3 of out of the 9 judges are already) to replace the retiring Alberta judge in the next coming months; who are probably the most undemocratic government this nation has ever seen; who are so corrupt in their dealings in the sponsorship scandal that it makes them look more like a mafia; and who yet still continue to ignore the Western provinces in almost every way! And we are supposed to all of a sudden shower the Liberals with our undying thanks and gratitude for holding a couple meetings in one of our 5-Star hotels or resorts! No thanks!

If this is the Liberals idea of solving all the problems or issues western Canada may have, than do us a favour: don't even bother coming here. I would rather be spared the slap in the face.
